From the Shores of Lake Erie: Jewelry

Beth Lampe Martin spends the summer months walking the beaches of Lake Erie, looking for
beach glass, porcelain and shoreline findings. In turn, these pieces
become fabulous beach glass jewelry, lamps, trays and anything else her
imagination conjures up.

“The degree of color rarity is reflected in the prices of my jewelry
designs. Frosted whites, browns and greens are considered “common”
colors of beach/sea glass. The “softer” colors of greens, blues and
amber are “uncommon” and the reds, yellows, turquoise, black, pink and
blue are rare to extremely rare.”

Beth
is also well versed in the historical
lore of beach glass as well as the mystery of their origin. “I am an
instructor of beach glass jewelry, home decor and the similar at: Grand River Beads and Gift Gallery in Rocky River, Ohio, a suburb just west of Cleveland.

“My jewelry is made from authentic beach glass and has been tumbled by
the sand, waves and rocks of this Great Lake. Lake Erie is the
shallowest of all of the Great Lakes and gives us some of the best
tumbled beach glass in the world!”
