• White & Turquoise: A Beachy Chic Christmas!

Posted on December 8, 2010 by Marie of Sally Lee by the Sea, LLC in Beach Cottage Decor, Christmas Decorating, Coastal Christmas.

A recent email from MyHomeIdeas.com piqued my interest in creating a beachy chic white & turquoise Christmas theme.  The white & turquoise seem to capture the chic and peaceful cottage style that so many love and admire.  Here’s the photo that started it all…

    How to Get the Look

Decorating idea #1: Keep your color scheme consistent by adding only white or turquoise (or turquoise-like) colors.  The trees white branches contrast beautifully with the turquoise beads used.

Decorating Idea #2:  Use a small disco ball and hang from your ceiling for a Custom Tree Topper! You can decorate it with bows and ribbons to coordinate with your Christmas tree. This idea is certainly out of the ordinary but produces a wow effect!

Decorating Idea #3: Don’t forget about your Christmas gifts…you can embellish each package with ornaments, ribbons and colors that coordinate with your Tree. These packages will not only contain wonderful gifts for your family but they will also add to your Christmas design scheme.

Decorating Idea #4: Use your extra ornaments! You can easily pull everything together by using some of your Christmas tree ornaments throughout your home. Beautiful bowls full of ornaments are an easy way to add pizzaz to your design.

Decorating Tip #5: Don’t forget about your tabletop! Coco+Kelley featured this lovely white and turquoise tabletop last year by keeping it simple and light. A touch of silver and gold trimmed pieces add shimmer.

    How to Get the Look

Because it’s the beach, the aesthetic is simple and light… but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for a little glamour! Touches of gold on rimmed glassware paired with etched silver brings shimmer to the table. Tasteful shell trees mixed with nickel candlesticks and aqua striped tapers add a bit of playful style. Fine china and mother-of-pearl chargers layered with a burlap tablecloth or runner provide the perfect contrast. Voila! Christmas at the beach! ~ coco+kelley

Design Idea #6: Just for fun….we found this fabulous Christmas topiary which was displayed at The White House in 2008. This would add WOW to any coastal beach cottage, don’t you think? Get creative by using ornaments, picks, spray paint and urns to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
