Ocean views are combined with natural light and a captivating landscape…just a few of the reasons we love the simplicity of this home from Elle Decor. “A summer day spent gazing at the ferry gliding back and forth between Cape Cod and Nantucket Island can be hypnotic. Add a good book to read while reclining on a sun-splashed window seat, then cool off with a late-afternoon swim at the beach, and you have the recipe for absolute bliss. The house where all of this unfolds, on the shore of Nantucket Sound, is named Ferryland—and the idyllic setting justifies the play on words: Who wouldn’t want to while away the hours in an entrancing fairyland like this?” ~ Elle Decor
The couple live here with their two sons and they know the area very well since they spent many of their summers in the region. They wanted, “Simple, simple, simple,” which explains why the views are the star of this home. Natural light streams through an abundance of windows and clean ocean air relaxes the senses.
The living area is styled in a warm, neutral palette accented by a few colorful cushions that add pops of color.

Large sliding windows link the kitchen and the screen porch beyond it. The center island’s countertop is a custom-mixed terrazzo; others are Pietra Cardosa stone. Oversize, 18-by-36-inch porcelain floor tiles in sand tones with natural speckling are aptly beachy.
Open storage bins, in the partition between the kitchen and the dining area, add casual charm that we really love . . .
