{Beach Cottage Decor} Small Cottage with Lake Views

Even though the house was too small and too new, the view of Lake Siljan in central Sweden was magnificent.  Lena & Ola fell for that view and over the past four years have transformed this 1950′s home into a charming little dream.  If you love cottages then we know you’ll love this sweet cottage as much as we do…

Lena found solutions for decorating her tiny home and here are few of her interior design tips; which you may find useful in your home:

The 1950s kitchen was updated to be light and bright.  Luckily, the linoleum had a nice wood floor underneath so it was painted in a beautiful checkerboard pattern. We could certainly do some cooking and baking in this charm-filled space…how about you?

Lena loves to look for old furniture to restore.  Mixing different chairs and styles is just fine with her (and us!).  This round dining table has various chairs which surround it and that add quite a bit of interest to the simple room.

Creating beautiful environments with old things is a perfect way to unwind from work and household duties.  One of Lena’s creations is this Rococo chair.

Instead of painting, Lena placed a quote by a French saint on the white wall above the bed.

Lena fell for the lush cottage garden with its apple trees and its fantastic views of the lake.  We can certainly see why!
