Coastal Blue Dining Room

Coastal Blue Dining Room Design Ideas

Coastal blue is like a great pair of jeans – the right shade can look fabulous when dressed up or down.  I was trying to recall if I’ve ever had  a blue dining room and I haven’t.  After perusing numerous blue dining rooms, I like the idea and gravitate towards the white or light grey walls with blue chairs and accents.

Coastal Blue Dining Room

Some people believe you shouldn’t paint your dining room blue because it makes food less appetizing. No wonder blue dining rooms are the exception rather than the rule: Beiges, reds and whites are far more popular choices for our eating areas. But blue can be a gorgeous choice for the dining room. I say forget the color theories!  ~ Apartment Therapy

Rope Staircase

Rope Can Be a Beautiful Home Accent

Something as simple as rope can be quite a beautiful accent for your home.  The texture and natural coloration of the rope blends well with many interior styles and color schemes. We’ve gathered some unique ways to incorporate rope into your space.  It’s obvious that a bit of “thinking outside of the box” was used when coming up with ideas for use.

We’re thinking that a touch of rope trim on our coffee table might be a great accent…hmmmm. (I hear another project calling my name).

{Color Palette of the Week} A Touch of Purple & Lavender

We’ve covered color palettes including Tangerine Tango, Driftwood Grey and our own Sea of Blues (which covered Sodalite Blue & Cockatoo) this month, so what’s next? We’re thinking about the sweet and soft colors of spring today so how about some Bellflower and Sweet Lilac today?

We’re huge fans of fresh flowers with lilacs and lavender being near the top of our list of likes.  A fresh vase of lilacs on a soft white tablecloth is heavenly during Spring.

Are you a bit more adventurous than us? Do you like the more dramatic ‘Bellflower’ hue for walls and not just accents?

Sunny Pink Outdoor Dining

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and pink is on our mind.  What better way to celebrate pink than with pink bouganvillea and an adorable brick patio from California?

On the brick patio of a tiny California bungalow, designer Krista Ewart kept the mood fresh and playful to match the decor inside. A white 1960s lawn furniture set is perked up with a pink patterned tablecloth.” ~ House Beautiful

Partying with Beverly at Pink Saturday!!

Blog Hop Linky Party – Decorating Resolution #3

It’s time to party AND I finally figured out what my decorating resolution #3 will be for the year.  I have such a long list of projects that I want to do so I find it a bit difficult to focus sometimes.  My brain just won’t shut off!

So, I narrowed it down to my Master Bathroom renovation.  I have many ideas but no “blueprint” on paper yet.  I can share some of the elements which I’d like to incorporate though.

The Master bath color palette is white with aqua accents…

A bit of beadboard or plank walls will add the charm I’m going for…

Let’s party!!!!  Please post the hyperlink which goes directly to your decorating blog post.  We’ll be accepting posts for one week – thanks for joining.
