So since it’s January we should be talking about a color palette of Tangerine Tango like everyone else, right? Nope.  I’m completely not sold on the orange color as Pantone’s color of the year.  Not that Tangerine Tango isn’t a lovely color; but I’m in the mood for blue!

House Beautiful had the same idea as us…their featured Paint Palette included in the new February 2012 issue was inspired by Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and is truly a sea of blue.  We love it and hope you will too.

Great Barrier Reef as Color Palette

Cool Cobalt – #GLB03, Glidden

Cool Aqua –  #2056-40, Benjamin Moore

So how do you incorporate these hues in your decor?

Balancing Home created a wonderful mood board using grey and aqua as inspiration…Visit them for product links.

…and how about this bedroom which used the Ocean Spray paint on the walls?

Maybe you like to add your color in accents?  Using aqua paint on the bench combines beautifully with the white beadboard walls.

Combining a variety of  sea-like shades together makes quite the presentation as witnessed in this bathroom design.

Swoon…more eye candy.  I definitely opt for the lighter hues. What about you?

    Hello Marie,
I really love the light blue and white bathroom, so relaxing. Reminds me of summer, needed on this stormy winter day.

I love all these blues – so lovely during our icky winter weather.

I posted about sea blues yesterday…it is the color palette that has been running through my thoughts since November. I just wasn’t ready for winter this year. I am drawn to the lighter shades of turqoise and always have pops of it in my sea cottage. My daughter just made reservations to go camping to two nights along the Sonoma Coast…I wish I was going. Maybe she will bring me some driftwood and seashells. ox

    Good Morning!

I posted blues today too on our facebook page. I confess though, I am a lover of tangerine, especially happy mixed with aquas and blues! Have a fabulous day.
