Warm Up Your Home for Autumn

How do you warm up your home for Autumn?  Stick with the colors reflected in actual nature… browns, golds, greens, grays, reds, and oranges.  Start your decorating this year by searching your backyard for twigs, branches, and flowers that can be used in vases.  Pillows, candles and throws are an inexpensive way to instantly add that cozy Autumn feel.

One of my favorite things about Autumn is going through my bookcases to gather piles of books that I want to read over the Season.  I  place the pile of books near a favorite chair which is draped with a warm and snuggly throw.

You may have noticed that there are no pumpkins or ‘kitchy’ decorating ideas in this post.  Autumn is about a beautiful cozy feeling in the air – not pumpkins being everywhere you look.  Your beach home or cottage can be filled with seashells all year long…just add some earth tone pillows and throws here and there.  You’ll be amazed at what a simple change can make!
