Regular readers know that we’re all about simple and easy around here. The beach lifestyle means to not stress about unnecessary stuff, including beach house pumpkins! I shared my Simple Autumn Arrangement yesterday and the simple decorating continues today.
Since I could only find two faux white pumpkins, I decorated each side so I essentially have 4 pumpkins! The scrapbooking aisle at the craft store was a treasure trove of nautical and beach stickers. Why not use these adorable beach stickers to decorate a pumpkin I thought….well, okay!! I grabbed some fun sticker packs, a small bottle of Tacky Glue and rushed home to play with my beach pumpkins.
Beach Pumpkin #1 is all about traditional nautical style….a lighthouse, sailboat and seagulls.
The nice thing about working with stickers is that you can move them around until you get the design the way you like it…THEN put a tiny bit of glue on the back and hold in place until it stays. Since a pumpkin isn’t completely round, some repositioning must be done, but it’s not difficult.
Beach Pumpkin #2 celebrates the Tropics with a palm tree, flip flops & suntan lotion!
A large bag of blue and white seaglass, stones and marbles was an extra purchase at the craft store….aren’t they pretty?
Beach Pumpkin #3 is called The Shore. This design is my favorite and features multi-layered stickers.
These beach pumpkins are obviously not for everyone’s taste; but I had a great amount of fun creating them. These designs could be done on real pumpkins by small children since no knife or hot glue was used (just a thought).
I’ll be back tomorrow to share my Autumn Mantel with you….
P.S. I hope you pop over to Sally Lee by the Sea and enter to win a Seahorse t-shirt!!
