We finally got around to covering each end of our deck with clear panels; which protect us from the coastal wind and rain. It creates a cozy gathering spot for Autumn afternoons and evenings too. I love to bundle up with my coffee and sit on the deck each morning. I can hear the waves crashing and watch the hummingbirds playing in the fountain….it’s a great way to start the day – anytime of the year!
I picked up the hanging lanterns and little white metal planters from Ikea the last time I was in Portland. The wooden boat with striped sails is from one of our local gift shops and is a favorite accent piece. (Favorite piece means that it moves all over the beach house both inside and out because I love it so much).
We’ve moved our potted plants up to the deck to protect the from the cool evenings. They seem to like it!
Chives, pansies and a seahorse on our deck…
With our unusually warm summer and autumn, our plants are still blooming (and re-blooming) like crazy.
And when we aren’t enjoying the garden, our back deck or roasting marshmallows….we enjoy going around the corner to watch the waves and sunsets over the Pacific Ocean.
Hope you have a beautiful weekend….
