The chippy old mantel is gracefully draped with Autumn leaves; a grapevine starfish wreath, white bedazzled pumpkin and sailor’s knot which provide a nautically-inspired simplistic design. The finished decor is a bit busier than Autumn decorations of past, but it suites where life is at right now. Every nautical display needs a boat, right?! We had to include David’s old boat as a finishing touch.
My dropcloth table cloth is layered with a burgundy runner and crossed with burlap ribbon. The centerpiece is a well-used Autumn candleholder display which has been adorned delicately with seashells from our Gulf Coast trip and seashell stamped tags. Sometimes we use a candle and sometimes we just place shells on top of the holders…depends on the mood or occasion. It’s all about keeping it simple around here.
A cherished seashell wreath from my mother is being used as a large candleholder this season. Autumn leaves and flowers (unfortunately not real) were tucked in here and there to softly represent the season. A pumpkin spice candle completes the picture!
Thank you for joining us throughout the seasons ~ it’s been a pleasure!
