Meet Matt & Jill Boudoin of Mystic Knotwork. “Along with many other Nautical designs, my wife and I make the original sailor rope bracelet. Our family has made and provided sailor knots to museum, gift and tourist shops in Southern New England since 1960. We have expanded to provide you with the perfect rope bracelet online.”
“Sailors, during long voyages, spent time creating art from the ropes, twine, and line that surrounded them. Sailors knots can be decorative or functional. Sennit braids were used to protect their running rigging, baggy wrinkles to protect the sails, and the monkey fist was used to pass ropes and dock lines. The turks head originally used to safely grip a wet railing evolved into a bracelet shared as a love knot. The sailor knot bracelet has become the badge of boat lovers and relaxing on the beach.”
“We thank you for supporting our mission to keep the maritime tradition of knotwork alive. Even the humble sailor bracelet can be a means to touch the past that stretches back centuries.” ~ Matt Boudoin
